Notre Dame Hockey Loses Can’t Lose Game to Bowling Green: A Fan’s Perspective

I have to open up by saying that I did not care for the switch back to Steven Summerhays in goal. Mike Johnson had posted back-to-back victories in the last two games, including only one goal the night before versus the Falcons. He was riding a hot streak and should have gone back between the pipes. Summerhays has done admirable work this season, but down the stretch, you go with the hot hand.

With that said, Notre Dame came with plenty of fire. Halfway through period one, the team jumped to the lead with a power play marker from Robbie Russo. The goal came as the result of deft passing from the combination of Anders Lee and TJ Tynan. Unfortunately, the Irish defensive lapses...

Bruins Overcome Shaky Third Period to Open Up Road Trip With Much-Needed Win …

The Bruins started strong and finished well, and that was enough to escape their final visit of the year to Montreal with two points.

Those two points might be the only thing the Bruins will want to take out of Wednesdays 4-3 shootout victory over the Canadiens, but for a team desperate to snap out of a month-long malaise, thats enough for now.

I give the guys a lot of credit, said Bruins coach Claude Julien, whose club is now 7-7-1 in its last 15 games. I really felt that we played through a lot of adversity tonight. It was tough to keep them focused, not get frustrated, but thats what we had to do and our guys did a decent job of that.

That adversity included an injury...

The best Finance Minister the State never had

Higher Education Minister VS Acharya, who died in Bangalore on Tuesday, was a gentle, soft-speaking politician with no hang-ups.

Well-versed with all administrative and legislative matters, he could hold forth on any matter. He could quote statistics at will; such was his grasp of the matters. As the Opposition MLC, Dr. Acharya always used to comment mostly on matters related to finance and power, besides others.

His grasp of financial matters was exceptional. Perhaps, he was the best Finance Minister the State never had.

One hardly saw any crowd around Dr. Acharya. If any person went to him for any work, he would be frank in giving his assessments as to whether it was possible...

Paula Abdul Is Still Setting The Trends! (VIDEO)

Elton John made waves last night, as he confidently wore gold platform heels while sitting atop his Pepsi throne during a minute-long Super Bowl commercial.

But before Melanie Amaro sang her way into King Eltons heart for some Pepsi, there was another pop star who was setting trends just the same.

Back in 1990, Paula Abdul danced her way through a Diet Coke commercial with none other than Elton himself. She even danced alongside Gene Kelly in an award-winning commercial for the brand.

Before pop stars like Lady Gaga garnered 18 million Twitter followers, and before reality shows voted the next big thing into existence, Paula Abdul was the it girl, and she earned her title...
